OPI Ink - An almost-black I don't like (Gasp!)

Actually, there are plenty of almost-blacks I don't like (even though, in general, I think they're totally underrated).

This is definitely one of those. Way to look like orgasm in a bottle and then be totally flacid, OPI Ink. Ugh. Though, my camera didn't pick up the bottle awesomeness. Which I guess says something.

(2 coats)

It had a duochrome-y around the edges thing happening in the bottle. I'm OK with the fact that there was no sign of it on the nail; it happens frequently. I think it's the blurple factor. There's nothing I detest more than a blurple. I know, sacrilege.

What a shame!
I find OPI's Ink to be such a pretty polish, oh well!

hi 5 i didnt like it either, but i think mine is the non duochromy version. heh. its blurple alright, and no dupes so it stays.. LOL

I didn´t like it either. Way to dark on the nail. My bottle was also duochrome, but invisible on the nail. I swapped it. No point in keeping a polish I don´t like. I love dark purples, dark blues, dark blurples, but when it looks almost black, it´s too dark

Aww Piffy...I think it looks rather nice on you, but I can understand the not liking blurples thing. They seem like an un-natural beast...The only one I have is OPI Sapphire in the Snow and I have to be in a particular mood for that one.

Darn, I love this color, but I totally understand not loving a color, everyone is GAGA over :):)

I think it would be better, if you layered it on top of another lighter purple or indigo..maybe then the duo chrome will show up :)

I have this one on right now, first time trying it. I must say I thought it'd be purplier, if that word exists. I'm a little disappointed myself, but it's pretty nonetheless. I just wish the purple was more prominent and so the pink sparkles :(

It's in my "I like it" category. That's it.

I have to say, I love this one. But I understand that not every color works for everyone. FWIW, I think it looks good on you.

Heeheehee...flaccid. n_n

I think it really does look lovely on you. I'm so torn on whether or not to buy it.
Maybe if I can find a full-size bottle of Nevermore, I'll get that instead, because at least I know I'd keep it just for the name.

I think that's a bad batch, cause mine is dark purple and blingy as hell. seriously you can see the glass-like sparklies on the nail as much as on the bottle!

Oh thank you! I thought I was the only one who thought OPI Ink was a huge dud - it had all this plummy shimmer in the bottle, but on the nail was just a navy-leaning blurple. Nothing special at all, none of that shimmer, it only looked ok in bright sunlight which I am in about 43.5 seconds per day. What a disappointment.

Sarah, Karla - I can understand why people love it. It just didn't bling as much as I thought it would and it was a lot more blue than I was hoping.

Jamie - HA! I feel the exact same way. Even if I'm not crazy about a polish, it stays in my collection if I don't feel like I can replace it.

Miranda - Ahhhh, that's where you and I differ. I love a good almost black. It's just that blurples aren't on my list.

K2K - I think the shade doesn't look so good on me. I can see you rocking the eff out of it though!

Jackie - That's a good idea, but I care more about there being more red in it than the duochrome.

Regina - I feel pretty much the same way! It's just kind of disappointing in its execution, as applied to my own tastes.

Chaos - Thank you!! Tell me how you like Nevermore when you try it!

Pau - Huh really? My particles definitely disappeared a little bit.

Tropical - YES! We agree in full.

I own this but have never worn it. I hope it's no too disappointing when I do wear it. Not much on the nail in terms of sparkle.

I think it's pretty, even though it didn't live up to your expectations. It looks gorgeous on your nails.

Maybe the suede version with a glossy topcoat could be a better option...?

I was similarly disappointed by Eyeko's Indigo Polish - just too damn flat and dark :(

Lucy - I hope you like it!

Megan - Thanks so much :)

Jenny - It's really not the lack of sparkle I dislike (I'm definitely creme-team), it's the color and murkiness of it in general.

i felt the same way about OPI Ink when i tried it. i've realized that most if not all polishes dry darker than the bottle, so i keep that in mind when purchasing. if it's almost-black in the bottle, i pass it up because i know it'll look pretty-much-black on the nail. oh well!
