MAC Dry Martini

Oh, Dry Martini...I wanted to love you. So badly. But three streaky coats later (with evident bald spots), and the beautiful olive green tone of the bottle replaced by duck poo brown on the nail...I don't love you. At all. I've seen this colour look amazing on other people but on my skin all the green just flew right out of it.

I also have issues with MAC's formula - this chipped after two days and could really have done with a fourth coat if I wanted it to be totally even. It's a shame, because I LOVE the MAC brush. It fits my nails perfectly. But the polishes usually wind up being a let down for me.

Are there any brands that just don't work for you?

What is up with all the brown "poo" colors for fall? I hate to be all judgy, but I am seriously unimpressed with the fall collections this year - and fall is my favorite season!

Well, at least I don't have to lemm for this anymore. No duck poo for me, thanks. Besides, RBL No More War has a superior formula and color. I have a lot of trouble with MAC polishes in general so I stay away unless it's something really special.

I don't even order MAC polish anymore. It chips horrible on me and I have other problems with their formula as well. I cannot afford to mess with what should be a prestige line and have this kind of stuff as results. I am one of the rare folks reading nail/make-up blogs who is not a MAC fan at all..helps too that I have zero access to even a small MAC counter inside a dept store. Nothing exists like that for over 350 miles from me. I don't even follow their ads.

I love your blog, I have a recent obsession with nail polish and I like to see your review on different colors and brands. I too have not been impressed with MAC nailpolish. It's too bad because I love their eyeshadows and lipglosses! Thanks for sharing your reviews!

I literally LOLed at 'duck poo brown'. I agree with The Laquered Lady -- I'm not so much into the poo colours at all. In my opinion the Halloween collections are kicking the fall collections' collective poo-coloured bums.

That's so my favorite green! I quit ordering MAC polishes. Too many chips for me also.
