And the countdown to 1,000 posts begins... this one is #991, I believe.
These were two were unique polishes to me. I don't have anything like either of them.
Zoya Gemma
Slightly murky green creme, filled with non-subtle (but not glaring) blue and purple shimmer! The application on this one was aggravating: the formula was thick but sheer. I still had some VNL after three coats but I was terrified of bad cuticle drag if I tried a fourth coat. So I left it as is. I thought I'd like it better than I did but I still love the color; the application was just a bit of a pain.
This is downright IMPOSSIBLE to capture on camera. It's a light grey/dusty purple shimmer base with gold and maybe a light purple (?) shimmer that pretty much threatens to steal the show from the base. It reminds me of the MAC Idol Eyes eyeshadow: looks like a delicate metallic silvery gold but is shot through with the ghost of a purple tint. Do you guys know what I mean? It's like that purple just rises from the polish for a flash of an instant but kind of disappears immediately... yet leaves behind this really strong impression that you're looking at something that is purple... but not.
OK. I sound crazy there. Either way. It's a beautiful, interesting polish. Three coats, I think... this one was definitely a bit streaky.
(In case you missed the announcement: the Inque contest deadline has been extended to Monday, February 28th! In addition to the prizes offered by Inque, I'm also putting together surprise goody bags for the winner and runners-up.)

Ok, I really need to get my hands on Jules. I'm wondering by the description, could it be kind of like a lighter & more festive Chanel Kaleidoscope? I feel like with Kaleidoscope I see pewter for one second, and then it's back to murky gold. Trippy.
I really want both of those! Ugh. I WANT MORE!
I love the entire Intimate collection - I want them all! SO BAD!
I'm waiting rather impatiently for Zoya to ship these - I can't wait! I himmed and hawed on Gemma and Marley and finally just ordered the sampler - looking at your swatches, I'm glad I did! :)
btw, I'm threnodynx on MUA - I enjoyed talking to you last night, even though the subject matter wasn't much fun! PM me anytime! :D
@peacelove: I don't have Kaleidoscope but I do have what is acknowledged as a pretty close dupe (BB Couture Blind Love). To me, they are pretty different polishes because Blind Love/Kaleidoscope look very metallic to me whereas Jules seems more like a super crazy shimmer. But yes, it does have that "wait, wasn't it a different color just a moment ago?" feel to it. :)
@megan: Zoya used to have tons of great coupon codes but they don't do them quite as often. Maybe wait for one of those to come around? Or wait until the Zoya Exchange (which I hope is on for this year!)
@Rosie: It is a surprisingly beautiful and fascinating collection. I'm not at all a Zoya fan but I am loving Intimate.
@Normal Girl: Hi there!! I went to bed before I got your last message and hope to answer it today. :)
Jules is gorgeous. I'm a Zoya virgin and this could make me pop my cherry :-D
Stacie xoxox
Wow, love them both. They're so pretty!~
These are both great colors!
Man, I've been on the fence about both of these! Your swatches are gorgeous, but streaky and three coats? Now I'm just torn!
I of course got the green one. The other one is not for me. Then I got Caitlin, Dove and Marley I think the names were... :)
I thought I only wanted 3 colours from Zoyas intimate collection so thats what I ordered. Now it seems that I need them all... sigh.
Gemma is a definite for me. Jules is really lovely. Now I'll have to add this to my list!
I want the whole collection! I'm seeing swatches everywhere, it's like the universe is trying to tell me something...if I get the job I went for an interview for today, I may just buy all 6 as a congratulations present!x
