This morning, I slammed my hand into the bathroom door and my right index fingernail snapped off. It was NOT cool. But I figured I might as well just file down all my nails. Not to match my right index but to match my left index that had a break that I've been attempting to grow out. And I remember why I don't like having shorter nails: they are impossible to shape nicely and evenly given the way my nails grow. :( See?
Nfu.Oh #059
Iridescent (gold-green) flakies in a burgundy jelly. A bit thick and hard to apply: definitely not my favorite Nfu.Oh. And it took forever to fully dry (the mani is already ruined five hours after application). It does have a burning embers look but the iridescence of the flakies do not translate at all in most lights.
Argh, okay. Back to filing...

Awww!!! I'm sorry! At least it didn't break any lower? I love how my version of "long" is your version of "nubbins"! Sorry you arent loving the polish either - sounds like it might be time for a tried and true love to help you mourn?
That Nfu is hella gorgeous! (Well, from here, anyway). OMG... I am in love. Sorry to hear you had application issues!
And sorry to hear about your nails. I gather we've all gone through some breaks recently. I snapped one of my index fingers off last Friday while attempting to pry open a canister. I was two breaths away from asking my bf to "open this before I break my nails.." when it happened, too. :P
aaaand... I caught my other index finger in a knife shortly thereafter. :P
I'm playing with a temporary solution though. Will blog about it shortly.
Still, love the polish on you!
I'm sorry about the nail break, I hope that your nails grow quickly!
Gorgeous color!
And I feel your pain. I had to file down my nails to little nubbins last weekend, because my left index nail was really weak due to peeling, and it needed to regrow properly.
Ouch! That's a painful way to lose a nail. I really like the shorter length on you! And the shape is nice, especially the ring finger.
I'm sorry for you - but have to admit that for me it's like with kittytokaren: Those are looooong nails for me ;o)
The nailpolish is wonderful - too bad that it is such a pain to apply + dry, looks so gorgeous!
Sorry about your break off, that really sucks. But, let me get this straight; these are your version of nubbins? If that's the case, you have the longest and greatest nubbins ever ... :)
Aww, boo about the break. But I think they look perfectly lovely as they are. :)
Broken nails do suck (and it takes a special audience to appreciate it... you just can't complain about stuff like this in the office). I have to say, I prefer your nails at this length, though. I think it's pretty.
This is my version of nubbins too! My nails are this length now and are so short for me. :(
Too bad this Nfu Oh didn't work out for you. It really is gorgeous.
kittytokaren: I don't really wear tried-and-true anymore. I have too many untrieds that I feel badly about letting lie around!!
mKat: Oooh! I'd love to hear about your temporary solution.
glidedangel, jean, Glitterati: Thanks :)
Jewelerjen: Thanks! I was trying to get them all to look like the ring finger but didn't succeed before taking this photo. They look a little better now...
Lacquermanic, PolishedSheep: LOL! Yeah, okay, so maybe they're not really nubbins... The ones on my left hand anyway. I didn't actually file down all my nails to match the one true nubbin. And it is definitely a nubbin: no free edge at all. I just couldn't bring myself to make them all that short!
Grace: Thanks! I just wish I were better at shaping them. For me, shorter nails bring out some weird inconsistencies between my nails: my index one flares, my middle one is flat, my ring and pinky nails are curved... gah.
Arrianne: Did you have a bad break too?
Yes on like 3 of them, slammed my hand into a door too. I had to take all of them down. :(
That is one hot Nfu-Oh !
