When I found Essie Starry Starry Night last month (for $5!! at a nice salon), my pinky nail was seriously messed up. I couldn't wait to wear it but since I wasn't lacquering the the pinky nail, I could only take three-fingered pics. Much like a three-toed sloth. Aren't they cute? (The sloths, not my three-fingered pics.)
I think they're cute anyhow. Look at those claws. They'd be fun to paint. Anyway...
Essie Starry Starry Night
'Scuse the tipwear. These photos were taken on the second or third day. I've heard some complaints of the sheerness of this polish but that's the only way a jelly polish with glitter is going to look really good: you have to have at least three coats to get a sense of depth with the glitter. At any rate, I thought it had pretty good coverage for three coats with a decent drying time so no complaints from me on this. No complaints from me at all. There have been many similar polishes and heaven knows it's pretty easy to franken a dark blue jelly with fine silver glitter. But I'm just so happy to have had the luck to find this mythical polish... and for such a cheap price too.

Omg, I'm so jealous! Such a bargain, and this polish is amazing!
Wow, that was a find!
I'm imagining slothes with funky Frenches--I bet they'd sit still long enough to get them done.
Great color. Love it. Sloths are so cute.
Very cute! I love that sloth ahahhahaha so random and funny!
What a great score!! I'm hoping one day I'll come across it with a great deal :)
That polish is gorgeous...and the sloth is cute. :)
At Woofstock (dog "festival") every year there are always dogs with painted toenails. Apparently some of them just love getting pedis. :P
you are soooooo lucky!
And for $5? that's a great deal for any essie.
Oh well done!! I love this polish :)
Awww I love sloths! :D
Majorly nice score! I've only seen this elusive creature (SSN, not the sloth!) in photos, but you've given me reason to hope that maybe I will someday run into a reasonably priced bottle! Absolutely stunning...
It's also good to note that I am not the only lover of three-toed sloths!
@ping, shortfalls: I was shocked, shocked, shocked that 1. the salon had the polish, 2. that the salon sold it to me, and 3. that they only charged me $5!!
@karend: they seem chill enough to sit still for ten minutes or so. I was tempted to photoshop the sloth photo before I posted it and to paint its nails… :)
@rmcandlelight, heidi: gotta have faith in these things. People on NB always says that lemmings always find you eventually and I gotta say, I think I'm starting to believe it! I've just been so lucky with dusties this summer, even finding polishes I overpaid ebay scalpers for! :)
@mKat: Woofstock?? that's hilarious. Aren't there special polishes for pets?
@everyone else: glad you enjoyed the sloth and/or the Essie. :)
If only they knew how much money that little bottle of polish was really worth...
i'm not gonna lie, sloths scare the living sh*t outta me! and i cannot believe essie won't re-release starry starry night. she would have a friggen goldmine on her hands if she did.
What luck you had! Never had this. Hope it will be released again someday. Looks gorgeous on you.
