China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Ladies and (maybe one or two) gentlemen, I give you one of the most popular polishes in the world!!!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps - indoors

China Glaze Ruby Pumps - sunlight

You knew it had to be Ruby Pumps, right? I mean, come on - this polish is legendary! Originally released as part of "The Wizard of Ooh Ahz" collection and then placed in their permanent collection as well as brought back for the re-release of "Wizard" last year, this polish has probably graced the fingers of most of you out there. As a matter of fact, for a hot second I thought about NOT showing this polish as it has been swatched from here to Zimbabwe and back, but it was The Husband's birthday this week and I let him choose. "What polish do you think I should..." "Ruby Pumps." "No seriously, Husband, which one should I..." "Ruby Pumps." What can I say, he just loves this one.

So what is it about this color? Is it the glitter-filled candy apple red goodness? Is is the smooth finish? Is it the fact that every girl out there has always wanted a pair of THESE?

Who knows... but you've got to have it, right?

Happy day, all!

  1. I love the fast that this is the one your hubby wanted you to wear. It definitely is one of the most popular polishes of all time. I just wore it not too long ago but I'm itching to wear it again now after reading your post.

  2. It is a classic, for sure! I usually break it out around the holidays, but maybe that's selling it a bit short. I should wear it more often.

  3. @kittypolishnbags - It is a contagious sort of polish, isn't it? As soon as I see it, I want to wear it as well! : )

    @Grace - I felt the same way until I wore it during the summer when the sun can really force that glitter into the open. Give it a shot! : )

  4. This the one that brought me to the dark side of glitters in full force... I stared at it as it came out of the bottle, I stared at it under the halogens in my elevator... I stared at it in the sun...

    I defy anyone to not feel fabulously decadent in this polish.

  6. It is beautiful and also an easy name to remember. Red and glitter is a perfect combination. Yep, I too always wanted a pair of those ruby slippers.

  7. @mKat - If there is any polish to sway your feelings about glitters, this is the one. Good choice!

    @JQ - Get it, girl!

    @Lucy - You are right on all points. If I find a good supplier of ruby slippers, I'll let you know! : )

  8. Yes, it's a gorgeous colour hands down! I've yet to know of anyone who disliked Ruby Pumps!

    Hehe...I STILL want a pair of ruby slippers like the ones Dorothy wore and I'm in my 20s. :) Have wanted them since I was probably 2!
