Proof that I have the weirdest skin tone ever: OPI Swiss redux

A few days ago I went to a super secret awesome nail supply place with my new friend glitzbeary (*waves*), and got to see all the OPI Swiss polishes in person. Even though I thought I'd tried all of the colours I'd be into, Just A Little Rösti At This really called to me! It looked very different in the store lighting than the swatches online, and I figured for such a great price, I might as well try it out!

The CLAW:

I got the impression from other people's swatches that this was more of a brick red, with maybe a tiny hint of purple. Like every polish ever made, it pulls way more purple on me, and the result is a lovely plummy-berry hue that also looks darker on me than I was expecting. It reminds me of a non-dusty version of Essie Angora Cardi, perhaps. On me its quite vampy, but not so dark that it ever looks black. Maybe not unique, but lovely and great for fall.

I think that this proves that I just have bizarrely coloured nailbeds or a weird skin tone or something. But in this case, its a good thing, because I really love this polish!

Have you ever unexpectedly fallen in love with a colour you thought you'd hate?

So jealous of your super secret nail supply. :) I was hoping my Ulta would have Swiss by now, but no such luck. They'd best be getting on that, because I have rewards to use.

There is nothing weird about your skintone! It's beautiful!
It might be the lighting oh where you are, it looks like it is later on the day or cloudy, and that turns the lighting bluer :)

This looks really nice on you! I really like colors that are dark but never look black.

*waves* This is beautiful on you,I love these vampy, but not almost black colours they tend to suit me better too. I'll have to check this one out.

One of my faves of this type of colour is OPI Glove you so Much from lasts years holiday collection. Beautiful burgundy shimmer.

Love this shade. I have to order this. Those vampy shades are so tempting.

After STALKING my local Ricky's in NYC for over a week, the Swiss collection was finally in stock today. I picked up William Tell, caved and got Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (it's just so shiny!), and grabbed Just a Little Rosti, as well.

I have the bottle in front of me right now and I really think this is the most accurate swatch I've seen. It's definitely way more berry toned than the other pics online. It's not rust-colored, at all, which I feel like the name implies.

@Zara - Same here! And thanks!

@Alison - Hi lovely! And I *adore* Glove You So Much. Last years holiday collection was just amazing.

@Lucy - I highly recommend it!

@Aurora - Exactly. While I love my almost-blacks, it's nice to have this in the arsenal. I think its really flattering

@Grace - Thank you!!! I'm so glad you think its accurate. I thought I was crazy when it looked like this on me. It looks much more brick-red on other swatches (aka something I wasn't into) but it truly is a berry, at least on me. You made some great choices with your Swiss pics!
