Pretty - but there is something I am not loving about it. I can't put my finger on it. So I added my fav topcoat polish of all time...
Essie Masquerade Belle + Chanel Illusion d'Or
Again, there is something about this that I'm just not feeling great about. (And I *love* Illusion d'Or!) Maybe the whole look is too brown for my current mood? Or too warm for my skin tone? I do think it is kind of funny that the names of both of these polishes refer to something being hidden and shrouded in mystery - because I can't quite figure them out!
What do you think of this combo?

What? What? i'm really wishing Masquerade Belle,'cause the description says: Blackened red. and you see it brown...is brown? I really need, want, yearn a black red that is actually black red, and not leaning brown at all.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks way better with Chanel Illusion D'or on top. Cause otherwise it just looks like any other dark red. Brown? Dark brown with red in it?

ReplyDelete@SakuraBlossom - I was also hoping it would be a black-red like the description, but on me at least it is a dark red-brown colour. It definitely has brown tones in it, but they might be exacerbated by my skin tone.

Pretty polish but one I've seen many times. I don't want blackened shades of polish. I like the Chanel top coat but not on this. Sorry that it doesn't do anything for me either.

I'm on the side of +Illusion d'Or. It's a pretty polish but the top coat definitely makes it something special.
