illamasqua Shrapnel

Illamasqua shrapnel, one of the colours from the design competition from last winter. This is easily my favourite of the bunch. It's a metallic pink-copper (flinty, you'll love this) with tiny silver microshimmer flecks. It's a very cool toned metallic and definitely unique amongst my collection. It's opaque in one coat, but I refuse to do one coat (what if I come under REALLY BRIGHT LIGHT and I can see VNL if I look very closely?!) so this is two.

The colour is described as 'the colour of a new penny'. Just to be really pedantic I decided to test this claim - think of this as the nail polish Mythbusters. So, 2010 English penny in hand, I can confirm that...it's not the same colour. It's considerably pinker. Still really pretty, though!

I think it will be my first Illamasqua polish. I love the colour, moreover I love its name (professional bias: I'm a blast investigation expert. :D ).

Wish I'd bought this instead of Raindrops. Raindrops was a total letdown. I know I'll end up getting this one one day. Great review.

Reminds me of an old OPI I have and I think it might even have been called Copper Penny. But if it's as old as I am thinking, it would be in that vintage of the icky frosts that we had before good metallics phased in.

I like the color but I wish it was closer to a new penny! I wish there was an actual Nail Polish Mythbusters!

Like the colour, but not something i actually would wear..
btw, i have a question for you lol : What's the ugliest nail polish colour you have tried?.. it would actually be cool if you did a post about the ugliest shades, nail polishes with a terrible consistency and other stuff we have to avoid :)

I've never seen this swatched. Really pretty shade. Any dupes of this? I want the same thing in a cheap polish! Wouldn't that be nice. I'll just have to add this to my list! Man is that list so very long.

Lign: recently, Dry Martini (which I posted about). I hated that one. Hated hated hated. But I might make a post specifically about nightmare polishes, hmmm...

Lucy: I don't think I know of any dupes because of the microglitter and pink cast. Sorry!
