Trying New Things - Orly Pure Porcelain

I've been feeling more adventurous lately - maybe not with colour, but with brands! I recently tried a SpaRitual (long story - you will see it soon!) and loved it. This inspired me to finally break my 'brand rule' and order a polish I have really really wanted for a long time from Orly - Pure Porcelain! (SpaRitual and Orly happen to be sister companies as well, which is neat.)

You're seeing my new, more oval, shape here again! This polish is amazing. It pulls more pink on me than it does on other people, but I just love love love love love love it! The formula is fantastic - not difficult to apply like other pale colours. It's a beautiful combination of white, pink, creme and grey. (Trust me, it looks more dusty when I compare it to my other pale pinks.) One of those perfect "any occasion" polishes and the wear was amazing!! Minimal tip wear and no chips for 5 days! I switched polish after that so no telling how long it would go...

I will *definitely* be trying more from Orly. I'm a huge fan so far! I just wish the bottle was prettier. Oh well, it is very functional.

Any Orly recommendations for me? What are your favourites?

Orly Blue Collar is on my fingers right now. I really like Orly polishes. They're the best bang for your buck if you ask me.

This is so pretty, and I'm loving the nail shape! Orly does have a great formula, but I feel like they're a little behind the trends with their colors, so that, by the time they put out a color I want, I'm certain I've already got something very similar in my stash (as was the case with Ancient Jade and Sapphire Silk and most of the "Sweet" collection). Otherwise, I'm sure I would have a lot more of their polishes. Two that I can wholeheartedly recommend (if you can still find them) are Wandering Vine and Wild Wisteria. Wild Wisteria is, I think, a dupe of OPI Sapphire in the Snow, but I was ridiculous enough not to pick that one up when it came out, so I'm happy to have the Orly. I've also got Blue Suede, which is a great dusty matte blue.

I am a big fan of Orly. The formulas are amazing. I agree with you about the bottle, though. It's kind of boring. My favorites are Star of Bombay, which is also good for stamping, Razzle, and my all-time favorite winter polish, Winter Wonderland. :)

I did not know that Sparitual and Orly were the same company! Someone said on the boards the other day that the founder of Orly named the company after his wife though. I should investigate this.. Glitz & Glamour is pretty much the most amazing gold available if you can get your paws on it. I also love Under the Mistletoe and the entire cosmic fx line. I need more Orly!

If you want to try something bright, and I mean really bright, Orly Royal Navy is amazing.

So good to see you branching out into Orly! I love my Orlys so much, and I actually really love the bottle. =) I'm not sure what colors to recommend for you since you like much more sedate colors than I normally wear... though maybe you should have a look at Royal Velvet and Sapphire Silk! Love the new nail shape too. ♥

See why so many pros have raved about the Orly formula for years? They have not been the most creative in shades until this recent last few releases have had some good ones - and fall looks to be great as well too. Loving -big time loving your oval shade...like to see it kept that way.

this color looks perfect on you ! One Orly polish you would propably like is Country Club Khaki (taupe). One of my favorite Orly's is Pixie Dust (blue-ish gray with silver shimmer). The next Orly polish I'll buy will be Fowl Play !

My first Orly was called Dazzling. I'm not sure about the color on me, but I was also very impressed with the formula and coverage.

I agree about the bottle. It's not the prettiest to look at but the grip on the neck I find to be very functional.

Great color, too!

I really like Orly polish. Great bottle cap which helps me keep a grip on things! Love the oval shape of your nails. Really lovely. The polish suits you very well. Such a delicate shade.

Looks lovely on you, especially with your new shape (which I LOVE!)! I love Orly and some of my favorites are: Hothouse Flower (my #1 Orly lemming!), Fancy Fuchsia, Glitz & Glamour, Winter Wonderland, Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Royal Velvet...and I really loved all of the colors in the Sweets Collection (my favorite pastels!) and all of the colors in the Cosmix FX Collection. I'm really, really looking forward to the new fall Birds of a Feather Collection from Orly - glitters, foils, flakies, jellies...it has it ALL! :D

I love Orly, but didn't realize how few of them I have when I went through my collection the other day. I might have to pick up this shade. It is really a stunner!

That looks great on you! I *love* the Orly formula. Seriously wears like iron. Amazing. I have glitzier colors from them -- the green that's the dupe for Zombie Zest, plus Space Cadet and Galaxy Girl. My best friend has Star Spangled has the same raves about the formula.

I was just thinking today, I LOVE the Orly bottle! Haha, perhaps it's just me. I like that they feel...substantial. If that makes sense. And I'm in love with the cap because it makes it so easy to maneuver the brush. My all time favourite polish EVER is Orly Halley's Comet. I can't wait to see what they have in the future!
PS. Still waiting on the rose gold watch, but Mama has sent it to me in New Zealand from the US! Eeeeeee!

You've come to your senses, finally :P Orly is my fav brand, I love every single Orly nail polish I own (I have about 40 Orlys), they are all amazing, rich, beautiful colors, and the formula is pefect. And I agree about Pure Porcelain, it' the best opaque light color I've had the pleasure to use.

Oh and recommendations? No problem. You need Space Cadet - amazing foil duochrome, Galaxy Girl - mesmerizing dark plum the whole Cosmic FX collection is great. Luxe is the best gold foil ever and Rage from the same collection, and Glitz&Glamour is crazy foil darker gold - seriously amazing, like no other polish, but not for the shy folks :P Royal Navy is an amazing cobalt jelly with turquoise shimmer - what a color! I also really like Cashmere Cardigan, Ancient Jade (the most perfect turquoise ever), Country Club Khaki, Green Apple (such a cute green, but maybe not for every person), Sapphire Silk (amazing, much better than OPI Ski Teal We Drop, cause it's lighter and more dusty looking), grat neon - easy application, juicy color - Va Va Voom, Meet Me Under The Mistletoe - dark green with great flaky shimmer, Royal Velvet - doesn't look like much on most swatches I've seen but IRL it's such a gorgeous duochrome - purple/royal blue, a bit thin formula, but easy application and worth the 3 coats :)Also - quite great near neon barbie pink - Fancy Fuchsia. Also the new summer collection has some stunners, really cheerful colors, I have them, but didn't have the time to wear them, but I think they are going to be amazing.

I love this. So clean and fresh. I really like the new ovals with it too. My favorite and only Orly (so far) is Haute Red - a great medium red for those skin tones that play tricks with color. Two coats and great wear. :)

I have several Orlys I like a lot, but I think my favorite is probably Fantasea. It's a smoky lavender with a gold duochrome. It looks scary sheer on the first coat, but builds quickly.
