Deborah Lippmann Forget You and Candy Shop (Get This Party Started, Fall 2011)

I don't understand at all why my SO didn't like these polishes. He's loved most of the other Lippmann chunky glitters I've worn. (He's even worn a couple himself!)

Deborah Lippmann Forget You

Basically, Lippmann Happy Birthday in black jelly. The above is three coats. And man, did it shrink a lot and fast. :( It's awesome because it's a version of Happy Birthday but on the whole, not super interesting. 


Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop

I always want to write this as "Candy Shoppe" (as in "Ye Olde"). I don't know why. This one I loved for some odd reason: me and pinks don't get along. I think I would've liked the barbie pink base just a little bit more jelly but as it is, the bright Happy Birthday glitter gets shifted down just a tiny notch, which gives the glitter a bit of a matte appearance. Three coats. Shrinkage city.

    Ohhhh I love Candy Shop! Shame about the shrinkage. :) I'm glad someone's else's SO wears nail polish too!

    Glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets shrinkage. I thought I was going crazy..I love both of these! I'm not a pink person either, but this reminds me so much of cupcakes or those pink and white animal cookies.lol. I love it!

    Oh no shrinkage! One of these days I'll buy Candy Shop. Love it. Looks like frosting on some wonderful cupcakes.

    aimeeus: Oh, my SO loves loves loves having his toes polished. Though, right now, he's wearing a horrifically streaky shimmer/metallic orange Duri polish. He really likes it and I totally can't stand looking at it. I'm going to suggest he clip his toenails and while he's at it, I'll paint his nails some color that isn't unbearable.

    What base and topcoat did YOU use for this that got the shrinkage? And did you wrap tips?
