I've been really into sheers and nudes lately. What is happening to me?! I admit I chose this one mostly for the name, but it is cute. It's a kind of neutral pink with a touch of brown or mauve. It's a bit girly for my taste, but it is mercifully un-streaky, it's very shiny, and it dries in a flash. In fact I almost preferred this with one coat rather than two, and I'll definitely keep it in reserve as a 'silk stockings' polish.
But I don't think this is my ideal Essie sheer - I'd prefer something paler and a but more neutral. Still, plenty more to get through to find the perfect colour!
I got this polish as a gift from a friend when I finished my PhD :) (she picked out a bunch with names that she thought were appropriate for the occasion), so I may be unduly biased in it's favor, but I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteI don't really think of it as a sheer neutral, though. It definitely comes across very pink on my skintone. I only wore it once, but I think I got it most of the way to opacity - probably used 3 coats.
I think you need to have keepers in sheers in both a nude and a pink. But that's just MHO! I got into that mind set when French manis were all the rage late 1990's into early 2000's. I would always have my top nude and my top pink sheer.
ReplyDeletePretty & clean look. I don't usually like sheers but I like this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm on a pale rose wave and this one is really beautiful, I only wish it would be a little less sheer but otherwise it is really nice
