So. Obsessed. - Essie A Crewed Interest

The Essie spring collection for this year has all finance-based names. Weird, but kind of cool? Nail polish sales have been up since the recession hit so maybe this is Essie's way of acknowledging it? Either way, whatever this polish is named after, I love it.

Essie A Crewed Interest...

A kind of mod colour with a lot of white in the base, this peachy-pink colour really struck a chord with me. I seriously stood there in front of my mirror with my hands next to my face trying to figure out what about it seemed so familiar. And then it hit me! It's the same colour as my absolute favourite, number 1, I'm-totally-obsessed-with-it blush - NARS Sex Appeal! You can see from the amount of pan how much I love this thing.

Suffice to say that despite A Crewed Interest's not-so-awesome formula - runny, doesn't seem to cover well, can be streaky - I will be wearing this *all the time* in spring and summer. I am so serious with you right now. I find that if I let each coat dry really well and wear a good ridge-filling base coat, the formula problems are minimized. And so worth it. Besides, who doesn't like accruing a little interest - even if it's just attention and not money?

What polish are you expecting to wear a lot this spring?

  1. That is a gorgeous color. Too bad the formula isn't better. I have really hit or miss luck with Essie forumlas. Still, I do love their soft pinks...

  2. Beautiful color! that's so funny about you in the mirror thinking of why it's familiar! I don't usually wear pink, but this one is great..nice and subtle and pretty

  3. I just got this beauty as well as Navigate Her and can't wait to try them, especially A Crewed Interest which looks great on you. I like the blush too and might check it out, although it might be too light for my skintone; we shall see.
Warm hello from freezing cold Switzerland!

  4. I love this color! It was one of the two polishes I picked up from this collection, but I haven't worn it yet as a full mani. It reminds me a lot of the pastels from the french affair collection (which I also loved despite streaky formula issues). Plus, it's totally work appropriate, which is always a bonus for me now that I have to pretend to be a grown up twice a week!

  6. You are just too funny! Love that shade on you. Love the blush also. Must try this. I need to buy more ridge filler. I'm on th dregs of Zoya Ridge Filler. I had to thin it out. Doesn't work very well as a ridge filler like that.

  7. This is such a pretty color!!! Wish the formula was better. I'll be wearing so many things this spring, I can't even list them. I have polish A.D.D., so I switch very often, lol.

  9. @The Lacquered Lady - I usually get along with Essie formulas no problem...this is the first in a while that gave me a little trouble! But like I said though, with some patience it works just fine.

@ChromaCraze - It's definitely more peachy than pink which takes some of that sweet edge off!

@Eileenie - That one has me very curious!

@greeneyespinknails - Hi all the way over there in Switzerland!!! *waves* I wish I could send you some heat from over here - it's lovely and warm. I highly recommend the blush, but it really does only show up on quiet pale people.

@Grace - Which is the other polish you picked up?? I'm so curious!

@Crystal - If you like this, also try Essie Cantaloupe - my other fav peach. It's darker and less pastel, but in a similar soft peachy vein :)

@Lucy - If you're looking to try something new I really like Barielle's Hydrating Ridge Filler!

@MariJo - Haha I will also be switching up my polish a ton (obviously)! I have a feeling that this will be worn more than once or twice though!

@Bed - What a wonderful compliment! Thank you so much :)

  10. The collection names are a nod to the Occupy Wall Street movement. (perhaps its their silent support?) Anywho, the color is gorgeous, and since I love that NARS blush already now I have to get it. Good Call!

  11. Oooh, I totally need to get that. Tour de Finance really distracted me from how awesome the rest of the shades in the collection are (it's now my favorite pink). But now that I'm seeing swatches of the others, I'll have to pick them up.
