Resort to perfection - No More Film

Today I have a lovely polish for you from Essie Resort 2012! This is one of the best polishes I've tried this year, hands down! Essie's Resort collections always have some gems, but this is just pure, smooth, sultry blurple perfection.

Essie No More Film...

When I put this on it immediately reminded me of one of my favourites - OPI Sapphire in the Snow. I wanted to compare them, but they were quite close, so to get the differences to show I had to put the swatches against black (differences in darker colours show up better on a dark background) and mess with the lighting a bit. So the above photo is really true to life, the comparison photo is merely to show you the subtle differences.

L - Essie No More Film, R - OPI Sapphire in the Snow

No More Film is slightly lighter than Sapphire in the Snow, and perhaps a smidgen more blue. In reality the differences are quite subtle, but if you found Sapphire in the Snow a touch too dark, I'm going to bet that you will love No More Film!

The formula was perfection - could have been one coat if applied well! I love a good blurple creme polish and this is one of the best I've ever tried. Love love love.

Speaking of "Film", I threw a huge Oscar party this year and it was amazing! Did you watch?

Thank you for the comparison!! I have Sapphire in the Snow (and did think it was a bit too dark) and wanted No More Film but was worried that they'd be identical.

I missed out on Sapphire in the Snow, but I have Orly Wild Wisteria, which is rumored to be a very close dupe. This is such an unusual color for a resort collection, but it's gorgeous!

How do you think this compares to OPI Roadhouse Blues? I love shades like these but already have the OPI and don't want to purchase a dead on dupe.

LOVE it too! The purple comes up in your [soon] shots really well. My big issue with many of the greats like Sapphires in the Snow is they blank to dark ? color in most lights because they are just so dark in most lighting. We won't be getting the Resort collection my guess is until June here. We just got last week the Finance Essie one - spring 2012 I guess is the collection. Navigate collection only showed up sans the pretty blue/teal in my area. I love to see these previews in swatches as I can never tell anything from company released graphics! Keep 'em coming. I want to see the other shades in the Resort collection - they are sort of historic now in my mind for coming up with some of the real winners.

I did watch the Oscars BTW - thought the show was boring but the dresses never leave me underwhelmed even if they are horrible looking - it's such a fun parade to look at.

So when is the Essie Resort Collection due out? I know my area is always way behind by at least 2 months getting Essie collections.

@Jamie - I think you will like No More Film! Let me know if it works for you!

@Grace - I agree - unusual choice for resort, but I love love love it. I actually love the whole resort colour story.

@GaffoRama - I dont have RHB anymore to show you a comp, but RHB is darker, bluer and dustier than this!

@beachgal - YES! I know what you mean about blanking to dark! So irritating. This one doesn't do that, at least not for me - which is part of why I love it so much. I think this is supposed to be April 1 release in stores? Not completely sure though. I haven't purchased any of the other resort shades...this is the only one I really wanted! That may change when I see them in reality though! Oh and re: The Oscars - my parties for it are never serious! Just a reason to eat hors d'oeuvres, drink booze, dress up and have fun! The dresses are def the best part :)

@Fingers - Let me know how you like it!
