Terrible olympic nail art

I was expecting to be a total humbug about the Olympics (I think every British taxpayer has spent the last year wincing every time the word is mentioned) but I've actually really enjoyed it. It has happily coincided with two weeks off work for medical reasons where I've been stuck on the sofa, so it's been nice to watch all the sports, and in my home city. So I succumbed to the inevitable and donned some flags.

I am crap at nail art at the best of times. I am even worse at nail art when Small Naughty Cat has stolen both my clean-up and striper brushes (I tuck them into rolls of cotton wool, which she then abducts from the bathroom and hides around the house). Nonetheless, I had a go with an orange stick and regular nail polish brushes. The colours are Kiko 266 (which I got for the princely sum of £1.50), Ciate mistress and Illamasqua Scorch.

Are you all enjoying the Olympics? What's your favourite sport?

I think this nail art is great, way better than most of us could accomplish!

I certainly couldn't pull off nail art as good as this- I think you did a great job. And I've been totally into the Olympics! I'm really enjoying everything; certainly Track and Field is a big one, but I love how I'm being impressed by sports I wouldn't otherwise think of watching. For instance, Handball- I've never watched it before, and it's so intense, really fun to watch. I'm wishing I was in London to see some of this live!

I didn't think I would be as much into the Olympics as I am right now also! And I love how so many of the olympians are doing nail art! Makes me want to do some Olympic nail art...your flag looks good :)

Leia - Thanks, I don't tend to attempt nail art very often because I know I'm not that good at it. I might try and get a couple of the WAH pens though and keep practising!

Impoverished by Polish - Nice of you to say so, thanks! Love the name!

Augusta - Thanks - I did curse the fact that I wasn't born French or German because their flag is EASY!

Lacquer Tracker - I'm guessing as a Canadian with a tricky flag you didn't attempt any nail art ;) Some of my friends play handball but I've never really watched it before. I tried to get tickets for the showjumping or swimming (which are my sports) but failed :(

sandipalien - I watched it religiously! I didn't have anything else to do but it was really enjoyable. Some of the Olympian nail art has been amazing! Did you see the British cyclists? Laura Trott had multi coloured Union flags, they were amazeballs!

I like it, and that Kiko 266 is awesome. My favorite event is swimming (and when I say "swimming," I primarily mean watching Ryan Lochte)

Haha, yeah, I made no attempt at my country's flag- that maple leaf would be a killer to get right on the nail. I DID admire all the athletes with patriotic manicures, though! I was amazed at how many I spotted!
