Essie Winter 2011 - Part 2

I showed you the first half of Essie's winter collection, Cocktail Bling, here. I'm excited to show you the rest of the collection today! This is the first time in a looonnnggg time that I've purchased a whole collection - and wanted to keep it all! This will definitely be a workhorse collection for me, not just in winter, but in all seasons.

First up, School of Hard Rocks:

I'm not quite sure how to describe this colour - it's somewhere between a dusty teal and a slate green. Love it. Very wintery and definitely adds a pop of colour, but because of the amount of grey it manages to be a little more subdued and wearable. I think this one will be very popular!

Now, probably my favourite of the collection - Size Matters:

First of all, hilarious name. Love it. It may seem like a boring red, but it is much more than that. I have a hard time with reds. I really do. But this one is more berry than red. (My pics are deceiving on that front...but trust me, it is very berry in real life.) This colour reminds me of Rachel Zoe - on her show she is always wearing a red, burgundy, berry or plum concoction and it always looks great!

Since I loved this one so much, I had to take another pic with my purse...

And lastly, Bobbing for Baubles:

Completely on trend with blues for winter (thanks to the Jeans de Chanel - one of which I will show you very soon!), this has something a little different when compared with other navys in my collection - it's dusty! Yay! I love dirgy grey colours and this is the navy take on that. I think dark blue is one of the most elegant colours on the nails, so expect me to wear this a lot this year.

So that's Essie Winter 2011 - Cocktail Bling! Which ones will you be picking up?

Love them! I snagged this whole collection, too. I wasn't sure I needed the red, but I'm glad I got it. It reminds me a bit of limited addiction, but definitely more berry. Such a solid little 6 pack of polishes!

So lovely! I think I need Size Matters now after seeing your pic. It's so vibrant and rich looking! I got School of Hard Rocks which I love. I also got Bobbing for Baubles too. I love the dusty quality of the shades so much! It's such a pretty look!

Oh these polishes are lovely. I really like School of Hard rocks which reminds me of Dior's Nirvana, and Size matters which comes pretty close to Chanel's Lotus rouge. Don't care too much for the last one...

School of Hard Rocks kinda reminds me of OPI's Ski Teal We Drop. I wonder how it compares.

All of these are lovely, especially that red.

I love them all and they look great on you! I think you're right, it's a nice colorful collection but still wearable for those of us who get teased about polish at work. :)

So pretty! I think I would pick up the grey, lilac, green and teal. I'm still struggling about the red. Almost the whole collection again. I'm slowly loving Essie again (i hated Essie brush some years ago) and whenever I think of Essie swatches, I'll come to your blogpost. You surely have the most spectacular Essie collection. Thx so much!

I love School of Hard Rocks and Size Matters, but tbh, I love the whole collection, and it's a surprise for me, because I hated it when I saw the first promo pics because it looked so boring, same with the fall collection really, and I ended up buying the whole winter collection and 4 out of 6 polishes from the fall collection. Love these luscious cremes. Good job Essie!

@Fashion Footing - Me too :)

@Fingers - Where did you get yours?

@Grace - Agree - it's a really solid collection!

@NYNAILDIVA - That's my fav!

@Alexisaurus - But the red is soooo fab! :P Just teasing, they really are cute colours - and quite suitable for many seasons.

@Charlotte - Me either!! I am really excited for that one!

@Honey_lili - I'm glad someone understood my RZ reference! And you're most welcome :)

@Alaina - Indeed they are. Maybe not super unique, but great colours.

@Polish and Charms - Thanks!

@KimsKie's - I'm glad you liked them!

@Sia - Thanks as always :)

@Lucy - I so agree. Navy is just chic.

@I Drink Nail Polish - SM really is a very rich colour. I'm usually not a red girl, but I fell hard for this one.

@imfeeling - Glad you like them!

@greeneyespinknails - Aww too bad you don't like the last one! But that's why we have so many choices. :) I love your comparisons to the other polishes - spot on I think!

@Noir Lacquer - Ski Teal We Drop is MUCH darker and MUCH bluer!

@mariebeedee - Oh no do you get teased? I'm sorry :( I get teased sometimes too, even though I feel that my choices are typically quite conservative.

@Cathy Lee - I'm so glad you come here for Essie stuff! I love Essie polishes (obviously) and I'm happy to spread the love. They really have some great colours and I love the formula. You would be surprised - my Essie collection isn't as huge as people would think - I am constantly editting my collection!

@Marionne - It is linked in the text. ("Essie's winter collection, Cocktail Bling, here.") The word "here" is the link. Here is the address if that doesn't work for you!

all gorgeous! i'm such a huge fan of essie, and this collection is exactly why. i'd so much rather wear a slate grey than a girly pink (even in my own wedding, the girliest i could handle was essie's lady like)

school of hard rocks actually reminds me of the only blue i've ever been able to wear without looking like a corpse (pale redhead here, and yes i also share your difficulty with reds!) -- orly's sapphire silk.

a lovely collection! i'll be picking up one (or, heck, all three) of these soon for sure. thank you!

I also have a soft spot on reds and this one is looking gorgeous and also the first grey shade is interesting

I like your bag! It reminds me of one of Phillip Lim's new bags. Where did you get it!

I love Size Matters on your photo! Is it much lighter in real life than Bordeaux? I'm still looking for my perfect berry red, just bit lighter than Berry Hard. can you recommend any shade to try? Thanks a lot, Sylvia.
