Essie Minimalistic

K2K wore this earlier, and it was her post that inspired me to buy this as a pedi colour. I love it on my toes, but I was craving something pale on my tips, so I'm giving it a whirl as a manicure.


I really like neutral colours and I like that this is only slightly sheer at three coats. However, my dominant hand has quite a lot of streaks, because you have to paint it on thick and quick to keep it even. I'm not so good at doing that with leftie.




I'm also debuting a new nail shape. My nails don't naturally grow square, so it's an effort to keep them that way, although it's how I've worn them for five or six years now. I fancied a change, so, prompted by a snap that took off the corner of one 'square', I've gone oval. I am sure if you haven't spent all day staring at my hands, you probably won't notice much of a difference. But I have, and I do. we'll see how long I keep them like this.

    The oval shape looks quite pretty on your (enviably long!) nails. I say stick with it! :)

    I'm not convinced I could get away with this, i'd be picking imaginary dirt out from under my nails in case it showed through.
    I am SO JEALOUS that you're able to to grow your nails long naturally, mine are so weak that I decided to eff up any chances and go acrylic (and less chipping!) I plan on doing a blog post this week on recent manicures tho! x

    You have such pretty nails. I changed my nail shape a couple of years ago. I filed them into ovals. They looked so pretty but they didn't last. My nails naturally grow into a square shape. The polish is really pretty. I do like neutrals.

    As beautiful as they were square, they are even better like this. That's how I wear mine too. They just naturally want to be this way and I don't fight it. They're not that oval, more a "squoval" look that is also gorgeous in the profile view. I'd keep them if I were you. And yeah, it's a very stable shape. Fewer breaks.

    Your nail shape is like mine-squoval-i find that perfect square nails are sharp on the corners!! So I file them a little and make squovals!! This color is way too light for me!
