I was feeling a little bummed out so a while back I picked up Essie's A Cut Above at the drugstore to cheer myself up. The morning after this impulse purchase, I felt a bit guilty. I mean, what am I going to do with giant pink glitter?!
Turns out, that answer is put it over a neutral and smile secretly inside. (Piff would be proud.)
I put it over Essie Hot Coco and I quite like it! I think that because there is multi-sized glitter in their it keeps it from looking like diseased pock marks - which is usually what I think hexagonal glitter looks like. The glitter is quite dense - above is one coat! Something a little new for me, but I couldn't help looking down at my hands and wiggling them in the sunshine when I was wearing this! Somehow I feel like I can better get away with this so close to the holidays. Never fear, I'm sure a creamy neutral is on the horizon for the next mani...
Would you wear it?

I love this top coat, I saw it when I was in ulta but I didn't pick it up, now I wish I did!

Stunning but after turquoise in Caicos i will not buy essie any more... but i do love this glitter and i just might have to jump back on the Essie train!!
ReplyDeleteI went back and forth over this one in Ricky's and ultimately didn't pick it up because I figured it was too close to SOPI Traffic Stopper Copper. Although it's definitely not a dupe, I couldn't think why I would really need both. Despite needing *every* possible variation on taupe, I'm much more picky about glitters because I don't get as much use out of them. This looks lovely on you, though, and I might try a version of this with TSC. Maybe with a warmed colored nude to set off the copper glitter...
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous glitter!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get it.
I definitely would wear it and actually I'm gonna purchase this one. It looks great on you too! :)
ReplyDeleteI do wear it, as Deborah Lippmann's Some Enchanted Evening ;) Don't you think they're close? I love this as a more affordable option! I also love how you're wearing it in these photos.
ReplyDeleteThat's an unexpected and beautiful combination! :D
ReplyDeleteNice!!
ReplyDeleteI think the matte version of this manicure would be awesome too! :)
I would totally wear it! Great combination!
ReplyDeleteLove! x
ReplyDeleteLove this manicure! Love that big pink glitter. Very fancy!
ReplyDeleteI did not pick up the chunky fatty pink glitter either because it so was not me being that big of size of pieces. But I have to say it looks stunning over the Essie Hot Coco.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of those big glitters, but I like the way you used.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty
something about your posts always make me want to buy the polishes. and i actually do haha just bought essie golden nuggets after seeing your nails and i love it. definitely considering this one too.
ReplyDeleteWho is Piff?
ReplyDeleteGreat combo!! It works so well together!
ReplyDeleteTrust you to make hexagon glitter, which I normally hate (luckily for my wallet, heh), look good! ;)
