I recently won a giveaway held by Kelly of Devilish Polish, and the
prize was one of her custom polishes - I picked Lime Drop, because I'm a
sucker for green, even if they're really iffy on me.
Lime Drop
is a yellow-green shimmer with scattered holo glitter. I expected it to
be streaky, but it shows zero brush strokes - the green is perfect. I'm
undecided about the holo glitter - I'm not a massive fan of obvious
glitter at the best of times, but I think I'll warm up to it when the
weather gets warmer. I can imagine this being a great pedi colour this
summer!
Lime Drop is no longer being sold, but there are three gorgeously intense shimmers being sold here for $5 a pop.
I
like how this line bucks the glitter-heavy custom polish trend - maybe
it's just me, but as much as I love looking at macros of mixes of
glitter, I can't imagine being in the mood for the same one more than a
handful of times.
Unfortunately it dries a little gritty (just
the glitter, not the shimmer) and probably needs 2 coats of topcoat - I
only used one thin coat because I was lazy but I didn't really mind. It
also dries a bit slow, but I'm spoiled with super-quick drying polishes.
One thing I love about custom polish is how responsive the formulators
are to feedback - when I told Kelly, she almost immediately told me that
she's already been investigating new suspension bases to solve these
problems.
love this nail polish.. it looks so special and just great :)

ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed. Sorry about all the flaws. I'm definitely workin on them. One day I will sell more glitter polishes but I will definitely have plain ones too. I'm not goin to forget about them lol probably in all my "collections" ill have a little of both. :) hope you try some more of my polishes in the future. Have a great day.
