Birthday Grey - Essie Petal Pushers

It is my birthday.

I struggle on my birthday.

I like this polish.

Essie Petal Pushers is a stormy grey with a strong hint of blue, and in the right light the barest hint of lavender. It is identical in undertone to Essie Cocktail Bling, just a few shades darker.

    Happy birthday to you! This color looks lovely on you. It's also very fitting for the non-spring weather I see outside my window...

    My birthday is also in a few days, and I am starting to struggle with them as well. Am trying to focus on the positive for now. Do something unusually nice for yourself today, or give yourself something to look forward to in the near future. Remind yourself that life can be fun. :)

    My birthday was in December and I spent time myself being not happy about having another one. I remember thinking we spend our growing up years looking forward to milestone birthdays and then, in my opinion, starting with our thirtieth birthday, we begin to dislike them more and more. And the more we dislike them, the faster they arrive! It seems a cruel trick time plays on us. You're not alone. Maybe take time on your birthday to reflect on what the years have allowed you to be: smart, talented, witty (a birthday haiku...loved that and loved you wrote it with the feelings you were having about your birthday), a good friend, wise and so much more. Also maybe think about what the coming year is giving you: time to read, think, laugh with others and by yourself, reflect, manis (of course!), and whatever else you enjoy. The word "happy" in the phrase "Happy Birthday" may have started to feel ironic but the sentiment is the same: glad to know you're among us for another year. Take care of yourself.
