Smitten Polish: Butter Mint

I'm going to apologize for this photo. My camera hates taking pictures of mint polish, so I had to attempt to tweak it a bit in Photoshop. Even then it's not right :(

Butter Mint was a polish that applied very easily and I love black glitter :) it added a little something to the already awesome mint polish!

Anyone have any tips for photographing mint polish? help! haha

Smitten Polish: Capitana El Rubi

Today I have for you Capitana El Rubi by Smitten Polish, part of the new Shipwrecked collection. I was wanting to wear a red when I decided to use this polish. I love the different glitter shapes in it. The formula was pretty difficult to work with -- I tried to use 3 coats, but even though I waited for each layer to dry, it bunched up in areas. The glitter didn't quite come out as I wanted. I suppose I could have used thinner on it but I was stubborn.

It's a maroonish red polish with pink and silver glitter (including circle glitter!) and a purple shimmer/flash and I wanted to love it but it didn't quite happen. It ended up being a very thick manicure (coats of polish plus tons of topcoat). Maybe 5 coats of topcoat -- I added one more before taking these pictures, and in the 1st you can see the trouble area.

Gorgeous polish, in need of a good amount of thinner, though.

Smitten Polish: Pink Goes Good with Green

I love mint green! I think mint green was the first "odd" color that I loved.

Smitten Polish: Pink Goes Good with Green is part of their newly launched polish line inspired by the Wizard of Oz. I love the details in this polish, it's filled with different shapes of magenta, pink and light green glitter.

This is 3 coats by itself -- I do sort of wish I had layered it over a mint green to have it lean more green (versus blue, although this picture looks more blue than it really is). Either way, it's a very lovely polish with awesome application, this is no cleanup!

One can find Smitten Polish on their Facebook here, their Etsy here and also at Llarowe here.

Smitten Polish: Winter is Coming

First I want to say, thank you so much for all the support in the comments from my last post. Y'all can't imagine how many times I went through and read each of the comments over and over again. It did help a lot and I can't say thank you enough.

I've gotten a good bit of closure from the various services and memorials that I've attended, but it's still hard.

Today's polish is from Smitten Polish. It's called Winter is Coming. Only if, as I'm in Texas and the weather is still on the hot side of sweltering.

Sorry about the sad state of the cuticles, it's taken a while for them to get back to normal. And I just cut my index finger on my left hand and I'm pretty sure it's gonna make taking polish off difficult to accomplish for the next week or so :(

Winter is Coming is a white (not quite jelly?) base with 2 sizes of blue glitters. It was very "refreshing" on my nails, if that makes any sense. This was about 3 coats. It wasn't super hard to apply but not super easy, either, the polish didn't self-level easily. But I loved it on my nails, and this is with barely any clean up!

Thank you again, I'm working on getting back into the groove of getting on with life, school and nails :)
