NOTD China Glaze Dorothy Who? (2009) and Grad School Woes

Ugh, it's the end of the semester and grad school has definitely taken its toll on me. I especially had a very bad day today. I got my first B in grad school today. :( Well, it was a B+, but I mean, I rarely even got B's in undergrad, so a B to me is basically a FAIL. Then, one of my professors returned a draft I sent her of my final paper and essentially told me that it sucks and needs to be re-thought out. :( I am also in the midst of finishing up my final papers (18 pages to go!) due on Monday. Sigh.

I feel really unintelligent and that maybe I shouldn't be in graduate school - maybe I'm not smart enough or good enough. I've totally lost all sense of academic confidence in myself and it's really showing in my final papers - they seriously suck. I have no idea what I'm going to do...

So onto nail polish...as soon as I got China Glaze Dorothy Who? I immediately put it on as blue is supposed to be a calming, soothing color.

This is 3 coats of DW? plus 1 coat of Nubar Diamont. This is after 3 days of wear.

With flash.

Thanks for reading and listening to me complain! :D

What a beautiful color! I'm not a big fan of blue but wow!

sorry to hear about your bad day. I know what you mean tho. I recieved a 79 on a midterm and i was pretty upset. I've gotten a few B's but a C?!

I was rather disappointed but a friend of mine pointed out my situation: First 'Tough' Accounting class, first term working and going to school and juggling my Business Fraternity's duties as well as getting into the honors program. I just haven't adjusted fully. Maybe you are in the same boat?
Keep adjusting and i know you'll be pulling A's again in no time!

I plan on getting an A on the final because i'll be studying 2-3 hours everyday starting tomorrow (til next Thursday).

We can do this! :)

First, the color is lovely on you. I really want that one!! Second, don't overstress yourself over grad school. If B=FAIL, a lot of your professors would probably be in trouble!! Do the best that you're able to do, give as much time as possible to your various papers, and make sure you get an appropriate amount of food, rest and exercise. Good luck to you!!

Beautiful color! Blues are my favorite.

I remember the last few months of thesis writing; they were terrible! I lost all confidence in myself, felt like a complete idiot and never had any time to de-stress. But once it's finishes...it's finished! And you'll have a graduate education that no one will ever be able to take away from you.

Hang in there! :)

Lovely color! As for school, keep your eye on the big picture and you will be fine. :)

Just because you got a B+ doesn't mean you don't deserve to be in grad school at all. The fact that you are unsatisfied with a B+ and will probably strive to make sure it doesn't happen again proves that you ARE deserving of being there! Keep going, don't give up!! =)

Don't give up. Your professor isn't necessarily a genius, you just have to kiss up and suck it up until you get that degree.

Now Now, Grad school alone is quite an accomplishment! And unfortunately, Dee is right. It's sad that so many who cannot "do" actually "teach" and make you prove something to them.
Believe in yourself, and don't let ANYONE get in the way of your dreams, don't allow ANYONE to make you feel "less than."
You stay focused on your goal...the obstacles become speed bumps rather than road blocks.
good luck to you on the rethink and keep believing in YOU.

Oh hun, we all have off days. You are in grad school for a reason, you got accepted for a reason. So, you got a B+ and it needs to be improved, well that happens, we don't always get it right the first time, but the real task is wether or not we try again :)

HUGS!!!!

I got a B+ (or was it a B?) for a course one semester, and proceeded to receive a (fairly competitive) national scholarship the next year despite it being on my transcript. This must mean that many grad students are walking around with at least 1 or 2 B's on their records, and obviously we are not all subpar! :) I know it sucks hard to see it on paper, but it's a small blip in the grand scheme ... the sum of your hard work is so much more than just a letter on a page!

Love this shade of polish on you. I hope it works on calming you down. You really need to take a deep breath, accept that you made a b+ and do better. Your a brilliant student. You know you will do better. You can do the work and you deserve to be in graduate school. I will say a prayer for you and you relax.
