NOTD Nubar Prize

Hey everyone. I had somewhat of a freak-out today, during which I couldn't focus on my many readings, papers, and projects of which I am in the midst. Sigh. Sometimes I think I'm just not cut out for grad school.

This has been my NOTD for the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I used 3 coats and it applied smoothly and easily. It was, however, gritty like glitter, which surprised me. I had to use 2 thick coats of topcoat to get rid of the gritty feel. Removal, therefore, was somewhat difficult and I had to use the scrubby tub.

I have a random question to ask. Do any of you have suggestions for an opaque, skintone nude for me to use under sheer colors? If you can tell from the pics, I am SUPER pale and I *think* I have a cool skintone - or maybe it's neutral? I can never tell. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for reading!

You have such beautiful nails... OMG. They are GORGEOUS!

Don't worry. Everybody feels like that. (And by everybody, I mean that I too feel like that and hope that others feel this way.) Some of the people I've often thought were most confident about their abilities have recently confided in me that they, too, have experienced (and continue to experience) "freak out" moments. It will pass.

And remember: You can't "do" school 24/7.

Unfortunately, being much darker than you, I don't have a perfect nude for you..so I will just wish you well on your quest!

That's so pretty! I was able to Franken my own reddish holo but now I'm wondering if I need that! I have two suggestions for a nude - Misa High Wait Hue and Misa Cherub. I'm really pale and cool/nuetral and these work for me. I like them because they are both one coaters. They also look great worn alone.

Wow. That is absolutely gorgeous. I'm really surprised that it had a gritty feel! I've never had a gritty-feeling holo! This looks like it's probably worth it, though.

This color is beautiful on you, and now I'm thinking I may have to get it for myself. Sorry I can't be of any help for your nude for use under sheers...I'm still looking for my own perfect shade.

I can empathize with your nude one-coater problem. I tried so many and eventually I ended up frankening one. Which I should have done in the first place, it was so easy. I just took polishes that were already pretty much one coaters, a white, a brown, and a little yellow and orange. I just played around on a paper plate until I got the proportions right and then mixed them in a bottle. It was cheaper than buying a million more disappointing sheer beiges.

I'm pretty pale, and have been using Misa High Waist Hue (like KML!) as a nude base with much success. :)

I bought a sheer beige which didn't work out for me, but mixed in some of my powder foundation... (Y) :)

Someone on MUA suggested to franken your own by using makeup. A powder concealer with clear nailpolish. HTH
