iHaul: kinda went on a bender at Walgreens

I checked this particular Walgreens in December: nothing.

I checked it again in January: WOW!

Totally went overboard (and kept the receipt).

Let's start with what I didn't buy: the new Sally Hansen funky french duos. They just seemed like the brushes would be a pain to use... and that the bristles would get really messed up very quickly. Which is exactly what you want when you want to do a clean-looking (albeit funky) french mani. Also, I don't really like the Insta-Dri line.

But then I saw this display:
It was Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. I decided against the ones that could be easily recreated using Konad but got a few that were more Minx-like:

Cut It Out, Skinny Jeans, Booty Camp (gonna pretend like it's not called that).

Girl Flower, Kitty Kitty, Laced Up.

Had to indulge in a few other Sally Hansen polishes that I hadn't seen before (and are presumably new) or had seen on blogs but never saw in stores:

Problem Child, Sequin Scandal

Grey Area, Lacey Lilac, Mint Sorbet (though I think there's also an Insta-Dri of this name)

Then picked up some Revlons: Gold Coin, Copper Penny.

But then I got REALLY excited: the new Wet n Wild (supposedly quick-dry) polishes! They've got some severely terrible names.

9021-Orange, Party of Five Glitters (I don't think it's a good Lippmann Happy Birthday dupe at all, better to spend your money and time on Milani Gems), Gray's Anatomy (supposedly a fabulous dupe for Lippmann Wicked Game), Teal of Fortune (turned out a lot more blue in the photo but it's actually a super sparkly teal shimmer).

The Gold & the Beautiful, SaGreena the Teenage Witch (oh groan), Blue Wants to be a Millionaire (has holo glitter), Hannah Pinktana (also has holo glitter). $1.99... Wet n Wild is an amazing value for the money. It's an amazing value even for more money. I SO want to try the Color Icon eyeshadows... except I have four tons of eyeshadow. (I mean, I've got forty tons of nail polish and I'm still buying...)

And finally... not at Walgreens but I saw this at a Rite Aid and wondered if anyone had any familiarity with this brand. Looks cute!

Very nice. I agree with you on the Sally Hansen funky french manicure ones. Every time I see a display, they are all messy (because so many people "play" with them), makes me think they really won't stay neat at home.

I'm wearing Gray's Anatomy now, and I love it! It's a bit sheer so I layered two coats over one of a sliver Revlon polish.

WHOOOOOAAA kudos! I can't wait to hear what you think about those Salon Effects - I LOVE THEM!

@honey: I guess we're pretty spoiled when it comes to nail polish in the US. :) (And we complain all the time about brands that are more widely available Europe… such spoiled kids. ;))

@lalica: Where are you from?

@peripatetic: The green one? It looks like it's a pretty ordinary creme, alas. But I love camo greens…

@rmcandlelight: There are no Rite Aids where you are?

@amanda: My Rite Aid is so inconsistent though. Some days, it's one of the best stocked drugstores in my town. Some days… it's just a sad experience.

@let them have polish: thanks!

@jeannine: I don't see why they had to design the bottles in such a way that just messes up the brush so easily.

@susie: Ooh, good tip! Thanks!

@extraH: I LOVE them. I'm wearing Girl Flower right now. SO FAB. I'm thinking of jazzing it up with some sparkly nail art polish and some gems… because that's appropriate for school. (Heck, I'm not TA'ing this quarter…)

Those Oke-Doke polishes seem a bit too blatant of a Tokidoki knockoff to me... I've not seen them up close since we don't have Rite-Aid in Canada, but between the name and the little characters on the display, there's no way it's not intentional.

Oh that "oke doke" brand HAS to be a rip-off of tokidoki! I love the tokidoki makeup line and that is just WAY too similar.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like Sally Insta-Dry. I just threw out two bottles today because I had given up on that brand. I never enjoy myself when I use them, and I'll never buy it again.

Oh how I wish I could haul like you do!! Awesome collection. I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun.

Awesome haul! I think the Insta-Dri with "mint" in its name is Mint Sprint. =)

I did indulge in the Oke Doke polishes last week; got Hot Tomato, Camo Loco, and Purple Nurple. I feel a little bad about the similarity but I was on a cheapie bender and my conscience was apparently out for a smoke. I was still reeling from finding a $2 OPI Catch Me In Your Net dupe and a peachy pink glass fleck that just made me smile in the 'Jessie's Girl' display.

Oh groan loudly with those names! Nice haul you made. I haven't been able to find anything lately. Hopefully the drugstores will get something in soon. I don't want those Sally Hansen French manicure polishes either. Don't like the price at all. I'd like to get the WetnWild polishes.

I came across the Oke.Doke. last week and thought I'd try Purple Nurple. It had great shimmer in the bottle but was pretty much just a flat almost-black purple when it dried. It did have really incredible staying power and after a week's worth of wear looked practically new- but that came with a price as it was absolute hell to take off- worse than a glitter! The line was cute, but I won't be buying again.
