Branching out to familiar territory - AA Mouse

One of my (polish-related) New Year's resolutions was to try to branch out in terms of the brands I use. However, I wanted to be really conscious about which polishes I let into my life, so I researched heavily (of course I did) and the winner was American Apparel. I've heard so many great things about these polishes - high quality, smooth application, and their range is made up of beautiful looking cremes. So on to my first American Apparel polish! Of course it had to be the taupe - Mouse. If I'm going to branch out in terms of brands, I'm going to go with a colour I know I'll love. Here is a truly heinous picture:

I was running out the door to catch the bus when I took this and didn't get the opportunity to re-take it. Suffice to say that the colour is a dream - a perfect taupe that isn't too dark or too light. Application was lovely. I didn't get a chance to fully test the wear because I had another polish I was antsy to try, but I will let you know! Polishes don't pass the k2k test unless they wear well. If they don't, they get booted from the collection! (*cough* Chanel *cough*)

What do you think about American Apparel polishes? How is the wear on you?

@Deborah - I'll be trying out more so I'll let you know how I fare! Maybe I can sway you one way or another?

@PerdyClaws - How do they wear on you??

Gah, why don't I have this?! So gorgeous!

I will never buy anything from American Apparel. There are way too many good polishes available out there to let a penny of my money end up in Dov Charney's slimy >shudder< hands.

Reasons to boycott American Apparel...

I'm glad you tried something new!!! :) I don't have a particular brand I am partial to, but if i had to pick, it'd be Zoya - only for their brush, it's perfect for me!

Will Essie always be your first choice though?

@Courtney - Hehe go get it!

@Sandi - Believe it or not, I actually weighed in some of this info in making my decision to try this brand. Thanks for the info.

@Adrienne - Absolutely Essie would be my first choice - favourite brand ever. :)

i agree with Sandi...i bought a couple of AA polishes before i realized the kind of company it is. also the issue of the polishes exploding on the shelves sealed the deal...i won't buy AA again, even if their formula and colours are cool

I've seen American Apparel on several websites. They look to be very impressive. I like this shade of taupe. I'm very tempted to order quite a few.

I love AA Mouse! Office is also a fave. Wear is ok, but not stellar.

And, having thought about it, their branding is not where I draw "my line" - the web-cam style makes it more confronting but the content isn't news

I have this one and another peach one, I think it's called Palm Spring. Love it!
