Yummy Berry - OPI No Spain, No Gain

I'm a big fruit person - I eat a lot of it every day. It's a food group that just makes me feel really *good*. Vitamins and stuff, right? And right now it's getting to be berry season so I've been stocking up on strawberries, blueberries, blackberries - even cherries. So delicious!

This berry-coloured polish makes me feel almost as good as those vitamin-packed little gems do!

OPI No Spain, No Gain

Perfect OPI creme formula - smooth and opaque, without being chalky. Simply delectable!

What foods are you really into right now?

I love this color, it's so classy and would compliment pretty much anything you're wearing. I can't wait for hot summer and fruit :) Ever make fruit flavored water by leaving berries and citrus fruits in it a while? SO good..google it!

Gorgeous! I am addicted to canteloupe. It's like candy. Oooh and clementines. I really want to go blueberry picking this year :)

Gorgeous! It's a great color for all seasons. And I'm addicted to cherry tomatoes at the moment.

So pretty!

I am waiting for my blueberries to ripen in my garden, I want to beat the local squirrel to them this year! I went out to pick them last year and the squirrel had had it's fill! None left for me!

I don't really like this polish, but yesss I am soo excited to eat fruit. In the winter, most fresh fruit is never tasty, so I only eat the dried, frozen and canned stuff and it makes me sad.

But in the summer...ahhh I become a fruit fiend. Strawberries, cherries, blackberries, plums, peaches, honeydew, mangoes, pineapples, WATERMELONNNZZ *swoons*

It's a very pretty color, but for some reason berry tones are not one of those colors that I feel I need EVERY iteration of. I can't seem to have enough greige, taupe or dusty lilac - I have to have every slight variation in color. But with berry, I feel like I just need one that suits my skin tone. I guess it's just not a color I wear very often, but it's lovely on you!

As for foods, I am head over heels in rhubarb love right now. I get so excited when it's in season, and especially this year because last year's season was so short, I hardly got my hands on any. I've got ramps, fiddleheads and spring leeks in my fridge, as well as a batch of snap peas that I just pickled, and a baby watermelon that I haven't figured out what to do with. I love spring produce and I always cook like mad after a long winter of potatoes and kale and bland mealy tomatoes.

Berry colors are not consistent on me. Either they work and look beautiful or look like a stuck my fingers into berry jam.

Never thought I wanted this until your stupid swatch.

I have to check and see if I have this. It's really a lovely shade. I also love fruit and can't wait for all the good fruit coming out. I'm buying lots of strawberries right now. I also have some blackberries but they have so darn many little seeds. They drive me nuts when they get in my teeth! Can't wait for the bing cherries to show up. Love, love them.

Gorgeous color! I really like berry shades.

Right now I'm enjoying our town grower's market. Not too much on offer yet, since its early in the season, but I am looking forward to blueberries and strawberries. At the moment we are enjoying the fresh local eggs and grass-fed beef. (Does it taste different/better? YES, definitely.)

@eleaneris - Aww that's too bad! Checking out your blog now...

@jaybird - I find that I have to be in a particular mood for them, but I like
em!

@Whitney - Mmmmm taht sounds yummy and refreshing!! I think I'm going to make a cucumber citrus one...

@Anna - It's funny you mention cantaloupe! Essie Cantaloupe is one of my fav summer polishes!

@Sia - Thanks!

@Spaceinvaders - I'm so glad you like it!

@Irishenchantment - Me too! I really prefer them then...but a little bit darker than this one.

@Olivia - I think its still pretty easy to find it you want to hunt it down!

@Adrianna - You know its funny, I've never liked cherry tomatoes. How do you eat them? With anything in particular or just in a salad?

@Alison - You have blueberries in your garden? That is so cool!! I bet they taste really good. Mmmm now I want a blueberry muffin...

@ChaosButterfly - I'm the same way - in winter I tend to eat frozen fruit, but that gets so depressing!! Fruit fiend!!!!

@ilexica - Thanks my friend!!

@Minty - I think so too :)

@Grace - I agree with you - I don't think I need every single shade of berry - just a couple. Taupes on the other hand...NEED ALL! Oh and rhubarb...oh yum. We used to have rhubarb outside our house when I was a kid. So good...

@agirlinthebasementwith5cats - Hehehe I kind of like the berry jam fingers imagery!

@Toyomi - Hehe I love your attitude!

@Piff - Sorry? No, I'm not.

@Lucy - My absolute favourite is probably Rainier cherries. I wait with baited breath for those every year!

@Shieldmaiden96 - Farmers markets are awesome! We have one in my little town, but it happens way too early for me. I am not a morning person. And I agree - you can definitely taste the difference with beef and eggs!!!

You made me wish I hadn't given my friend this polish last week! Darker berry colors are just not for me, but it looks smashing on you. :)

I LOVE eating berries too! Right now I am eating mad quantities of artichokes. I steam them and eat them plain with no butter/mayo, because artichokes taste like butter to me. I also boil, then simmer them for an hour with Korean jujubes or Fuji apples to sweeten the tea. It is the most refreshing beverage and has been proven to lower cholesterol and cleanse the liver. It's a popular drink in Asia.

What most excites me most about summer is the copious amounts of stone fruits I will be eating. I love southern peaches, but California nectarines and plums are wonderful too!
