I did go a little overboard - Essie Go Overboard

Ahhhhhh I just couldn't resist! I told myself that Armed and Ready was the only polish I was going to get from the Go Overboard collection, but when I saw the collection's namesake in reality, I had to get it. Some of the swatches I've seen of this make it seem like a bright teal, which is pretty unwearable for me. In person, or at least on me, it's actually a rather deep teal. It never ever looks black, which is perfect, but it's still a darker shade. It's like OPI Ski Teal We Drop- which I currently have on my toes! - just lighter.


The formula was truly excellent! Went on easily and covered like a dream - either one thick coat or two thin ones worked for me.

Just curious...but what are you wearing on your toes right now?

    LOVE this color. Go Overboard is what I wished Zoya Cynthia was (Cynthia just looks black on me which was disappointing)
    Currently I have Revlon's Blue Mosaic on my toes- did that 2 weeks ago for the Giants play off game, will probably leave it on until after the superbowl is over!

    I've got OPI's Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow on the toes - dark green/almost black.

    I've never gotten into the teals, but they seem like they'd be a good pedi option.

    Teal (of varying shades) is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite color; LOVE it! (Purple is my #1, though.) I'm wearing Essie Dive Bar on my toes at the moment. Essie has been on a roll for me, kind of: Bobbing For Baubles was awesome, and although I've not liked their formula in the past, it seems dreamy lately.

    Out of curiosity, how does Go Overboard compare to RBL Teal? I almost bough GO yesterday, but I got RBL Teal last week; trying not to spend so much!

    Gah! This is so pretty! I picked up Armed and Ready (and LOVED it), but I wasn't planning on getting this because I have RBL Teal, which I guess is darker, since it's similar to OPI STWD.

    I have Essie Smokin Hot on my toes right now, waiting to be paired up with a Merino Cool mani for a conference later this week (one of my favorite work friendly mani/pedi combos). Not that my toes will be showing at the conference, but *I* will know that they are nicely coordinated.

    I just put Sally Hansen InstaDri in Brisk Blue on my toes. It makes me happy and reminds me of summer. Im sooooo ready for the beach!!

    Very nice shade; it looks nice on you. On my toes I have Lapiz of luxury right now but am surely going to put Essie's Bordeaux or OPI's Got the blues for red on tonight or tomorrow.

    I think this is such a lovely color. It's like Essie can only do fun, interesting colors in really small collections.

    My toes are rocking Meep Meep Meep! I need something bright & sparkly to keep myself happy through the winter months.

    @emilee - Sometimes I'm also disappointed by almost-black colours :( (And I'm cheering for the Giants too!!!!)

    @Lindsay - Now HTAT is an almost-black that I absolutely love!! There is something very unique about that finish. I usually just wear teals on my toes as well, but I had a moment with this. :)

    @WildHeart - I've always been a huge Essie fan, but I have to agree with you, the past couple years have been amazing for them! Unfortunately I don't have RBL Teal any more to compare the two..sorry :( From what I remember I think RBL Teal was darker.

    @Grace - Smokin Hot is still one of my faovrite oclours of all time!! And it goes great with Merino Cool for sure :)

    @ilovemesomeginger - Haha adorable! I'm not *quite* ready for the beach, but I think I'm going to do something more cheerful on my toes next as well :)

    This color is great on you. I love those dark shades.

    I'm wearing OPI - From Monop With Love on my toes right now. This is a limited edition for a retail store in France. I'm quite happy to have it in my collection, that's nothing terribly unique but at least it something that you guys don't have in the US ;) lol

    It's a lovely shade. I have it on my list to buy. I don't have anything on my toes. I've polished my toes once in about 10 years. GASP! I should start. It's 10 more nails that can wear a different color polish.

    I passed this one up - it was one of the RARE shades left on the display at Rite Aide here in my tiny town when I got there. I looked at it and thought of the teals I have already and all but one are creams and in this range. Did not need to spend $8 on another one.

    I swatched Go Overboard last week, I love it! It's dark but still colorful and pigmented rather than just being...dark.
