New Signature - Essie Plumberry

I usually plot out my polish purchases very carefully. Wind of new collections comes *months* prior to release, and I have all the time in the world to plot, search for swatches, and stalk my prey. Every once in a while though, I pick up a polish at random - it is usually a massive disappointment. (Or I realize I've already tried it...oi...) I'm happy to say that this impulse purchase is a total exception!

I was in Target (with a chaperone...not allowed back there without one) and saw Essie Plumberry in the display - a colour I've never given a second look. BUT I have into pink/berry colours lately to match some bright lip looks I've been doing, and this juicy red raspberry hit the sweet spot.

Essie Plumberry is a luscious dark berry pink. Application was absolute perfection, and it was shiny and squishy without any top coat at all - but I did top it with Seche Vite.

It's not often that a polish comes along that I know I will wear over and over and over again. Essie Smokin' Hot was probably the most recent one for me. I'm happy to say that Plumberry is now added to my "signature polish" arsenal!

Do you have a signature polish(es)?

I love this one! Whenever I wear it, people come up to me and ask which color it is :)

Oh this is perfection! For a while now I head for my helmer and look thru every drawer for a shade like this but come up empty handed.. I have to get this asap! Is it a true jelly?

I don't think I've ever so much as picked up a bottle of plumberry, which is clearly a mistake on my part - it's so pretty!

My "signature" polishes, just in terms of the ones I reach for most frequently:

Essies - Vanity Fairest, Playa del Platinum, Merino Cool/Smokin Hot (mani/pedi), Sole Mate.

Pactically the whole China Glaze Up Up and Away collection - might be my favorite collection of all time - just one gorgeous, saturated creamy beauty after another.

A few RBL's, and OPI's as well - Diddy Mow, Catherine, Anne, Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees, Siberian Nights, Holiday Glow.

*and Chanel Peridot - because it's my birthstone :)

That color looks gorgeous on you!

My signature colors: China Glaze Shower Together (it's pretty much the only color I want to wear on my toes!), OPI Stranger Tides (I find myself reaching for this one time and time again and it feels very "me"!), and Nails Inc Porchester Square. :)

Super gorgeous shade, especially on you. My regulars are typically Essie lilacs;blues/light purples or something Barely There, e.g., Mademoiselle.

Beautiful! This is very "juicy" looking! For me, a "signature polish" is usually something in the lilac/grey category. In particular, I like Essie Playa del Platinum, Essie Nice is Nice, and Sally Hansen Concrete (which is AMAZING).

That looks awfully close to Essie Cranberry... I wonder if it's another one of the name changes.

I feel like there must be a story behind needing a chaperone in Target that I'm missing...

Beautiful color. My signature tends to be anything iridescent/holographic/metallic and teal/turquoise. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect silver polish, or that would be on the list. :)

I lol-ed at the chaperone comment. My friend won't let me out of her site when we're at Target... :)))
