Butter London The Black Knight

Butter London The Black Knight
I was SO excited for this polish. I don't know what exactly disappointed me about it. It just was somehow less sparkly, less alive than I thought it'd be. Kept on applying coats, trying to make it more awesome. (I think I stopped at four. What? It works with other glitters...) Purple blue and silver glitter in a black base. Slightly gritty. Eats topcoat like a glitter.

This is really pretty! I actually don't have it, but I do have Pure Ice Private Show which is a much cheaper dupe.

I also felt the same kind of let down. It wasn't anything specific, but it was there. It is very pretty, but something is missing.

This was a must have for me and I finally gave in and paid the $14 for it. That is the first time I ever paid more than $8 for a polish. That was 6 months ago, and I have worn it once. It was super chiptastic and although absolutely gorgeous on, it was not an easy formula to apply, I didn't like the little brush or cap at all, and just haven't used it since. So it sits in a drawer of other polishes gathering dust and slowly separating. Sad story but true.

i was disappointed when i got this too, but now i do 2 topcoats right after i paint them: gelous (from sally's) and then seche vite. the next day, i put another coat of gelous. gelous (lots of it!) seems to do the trick in making it super shiny, like glass, like how it should be. i've had a guy remark on how sparkly my polish was during an elevator ride! hope this helps you all love the polish more!

I have considered doing what people do with the super dark A. Englands-lightly run a pad with remover over it, removes just a bit of the polish, but leaves the glitter. Then topcoat(s).

I too was sooo disappointed with this color. I bought it during Ulta's days of beauty.

In general I was disappointed with Butter Londons overall. The formula was mediocre and brush was fair. Maybe I bought into the hype that they were super awesome? I'll stick to my OPIs/China Glazes instead...
