I'm back! I was going to make a celebratory post with a mani I did recently (I don't really have many from vacation, my nails/cuticles take some neglect while I'm not at home, I need to work on that) but I'm changing what I was going to post to this.
My best friend passed away this past weekend. She was hit by a drunk driver. She was only 23.
It's a shock to the system.
I did this mani to honor her... it was a mani she posted on my facebook wall last week, asking me to do it on her nails when she next came over. That day won't ever come, but I'll always think of her.
I'm sorry about the mani quality, it was one that just wouldn't go well for me.
I used American Apparel Hassid and some gold striping tape. It doesn't really hold up that well, even with top coat. I took a shower and it faded to a pale gold. The one on my pinky I reapplied because it repeatedly fell off.
But it looks great.
Please, don't drink and drive.
Very sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you will feel better.
ReplyDeleteThe mani looks quite nice, black and silver together are so classy :)
So sorry about your loss.

ReplyDeleteOh my god, i am so sorry for your loss. Life is sometimes so unfair... :'(
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI wish people would think before they got behind the while after drinking. I wish they didn't get behind the wheel at all.
=(
I'm so sorry. That is heartbreaking to hear. :(
ReplyDeleteThe nails were a lovely gift to your friend even if they didn't turn exactly as hoped. I am sorry for your pain. Hugs from Canada.

I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. Such a senseless tragedy.
ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear of your loss. My sister and her family were killed by a drunk driver. It's really hard to loose anyone close and esp when so young. Paz
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I know that it is not much as far as consoling you goes, but my heart hurts for you. I live in a college town and I have seen people driving who should not be. The other day I saw a kid get arrested in a restaurant lot. I felt bad for him at the time, he seemed like a nice kid. There were four passengers in his car. Now that I read your post I am reminded that it could have ended up so much worse. I am thankful that the police in our town are looking out for us. My prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I'm so sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she will be much honored by your choice.
You and her are in my thoughts.
Oh my gosh, that is heartbreaking. I am so sorry for you and her friends and family, and I am thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family of your friend. It's such a senseless loss when these types of things happen and hopefully you will be able to find comfort from the happy times you had with your friend. Take care of yourself and I hope you heal in time.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't read this and not post. I lost my best friend to an accident, his 10 year anniversary was a couple of weeks ago. I just want you to know that I feel your pain and anger and sadness. You're not alone. Take care of yourself x
ReplyDeleteMy sincerest condolences. The mani is a very fitting tribute.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your best friend. Accept my condolences.

ReplyDeleteVery sorry for your loss. I thought your manicure was a touching tribute.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. I wish people would think a lot more about the long-term impact their actions could have on the lives of others.
ReplyDeleteI'm terribly sorry to hear about your friend. Everyone affected will be in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I honestly wish people paid more attention in school when they talk about alcohol, especially when it comes to drinking and driving.
ReplyDeleteI think your best friend would be very touched to know that your wearing the manicure she wanted you to recreate on her nails. Perhaps you could put a bottle of the color you were going to use on her and some of the nail tape in her casket so she could have her nails done in Heaven (if you and her family believe in that)?
So sorry to hear about your loss!
ReplyDeleteThe manicure is beautiful. I'm sure your friend thinks so too!!
My condolences for your loss
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you- I'm so sorry for your loss...
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry :( My 87 year old grandfather recently lost his license after drinking wine at my nanna's birthday and driving them both home. It's something that really infuriates me because it's so unnecessary, but I know a lot of people from different generations who don't seem to have the same attitude. Maybe hearing about the number of people who lose their lives to senseless idiots would bring them round. :(
ReplyDeleteYou have so much love coming your way, we are all thinking about you. Keep strong!
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you and all who loved her on the loss of your friend. Such a stupid, stupid, selfish thing some people do.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. This makes me sad and mad, too. There is no excuse for driving drunk. I think your friend would have loved this mani. Hug.
