iNOTD: China Glaze Metallic Muse from the Khrome collex

Maybe I'm using a bad basecoat for it (Nubar Nu Nails) but I have had no good luck with the Khromes yet. Millennium was a disaster on me (streaky, painted right off my nail and then Diamont ruined it even further). But Metallic Muse was not as bad. Still, it took three coats for me to straighten it out. :( I must be doing something wrong...

China Glaze Metallic Muse

Definitely, definitely needed a ridgefiller for this one. Still, I love the color (green-leaning light blue and so reflective, I kind of regret wearing it on a day where I have to TA). Dried super quick (as metallics are wont to do) and I didn't even use a topcoat. Admittedly, I didn't use one out of fear of messing this mani up like I did Millennium but it worked out fine. :)

I still feel like such a dork posting iNOTDs but I always end up forgetting to take decent photos of my NOTDs, especially now, when daylight's scarce. So I figure I have time when riding the bus to/from campus to snap some sad iPhone photos and do a quick little write-up on a blogging app. :)

I have this color; and I find that it shows every flaw in your nail! It is a pretty color though!

This is such a pretty color ! About the application, I can understand what you mean. Sometimes these khrome polishes can be hard to apply and this is such ashame to see a wonderful color and to have application problems.....

I had some issues with this color too, though 24K gave me no problems over the same basecoat. I finally gave up and decided on halloween mani, the muse can wait til holiday time. Atlantis looks really good over this.

Such a pretty colour. But my nails are so beaten up that they can really do without hard-to-apply metallic polishes right now.

Thank goodness as I'm on a no-buy anyway!

I don't have these yet. I'll definitely remember to use a ridge filler. I'd read on other blogs how metallics show every flaw on your nail.

I have finally discovered how to make chromes look nice on my nails. I just did a many yesterday using Royal Purple Chrome from Sally Hansen (I used to hate it for full nail, just used it for Konading, but I said it's time I gave it another chance). Used Orly Bonder + Ridge filler (any good one will do, I use one from Mavala) + Orly bonder again + 2 coats of polish + Orly sec n dry and voila, perfect many. I will probably post a pic of it later on my blog. Without a ridge filler chromes look awful!

Gildedangel: seriously, I didn't think my nails were this ridge-filled until I put this nail polish on. What a wakeup call.

Tuli: Until recently, I believed I was the only person on earth who had problems with Khromes. I think everyone's been raving about how well they apply.

Jodes: I got mine from VNS last week. I was originally going to skip out because I have a ton of Romantiques polishes but got sucked in by everyone's pretty pics. :)

Elizabeth: Ooh, I have Atlantis, I'll have to try that. What basecoat are you using?

Helen: LOL, always good to not want stuff when on no buy... :D

Lucy: They really, really do. I used a ridge-filling basecoat on my NOTD (Sci-Fi) and it's much better. Still makes me look like I drag my fingers through rocks for fun but it's not as bad as it was!

Jo: Ooh! I should try that combo. I used to use Orly Bonder all the time but tossed it over when I got NailTek Foundation II (which then got tossed over for Nu Nails).

My Khromes applied nice and smooth over bare nails, but were extremely streaky and gloopy with Orly Bonder underneath.
