I don't know how anyone could apply this polish without humming Lady Gaga's Bad Romance to themselves. Or maybe just belting it out outright. (Same with Across the Universe... I don't even have it yet and the song's stuck on repeat in my head every time I see a swatch of it.)
Lippmann Bad Romance
First off, let me say this: this polish -- like Ruby Red Slippers before it -- is a freakin' bitch and a half to remove. And as usual with hex+glitter polishes in a dark base, I kinda feel like I've covered my nails with some sort of weird pox-like disease. This isn't to say that I don't like the effect; I actually quite love this sort of polish. But it kind makes me shudder sometimes.
Damn, this is a weird and probably inadequte review so far.
Let's start again: Bad Romance is purple hex glitter and regular glitter suspended in a black jelly. It took two coats to be opaque -- pretty good for a jelly, even a dark one -- and lasted several days without chipping. I got shrinkage with Gelous bc and Diamont tc though, which looks terrible with really dark polishes. Removal was aggravating, as expected.
Better?
It's a purple version of Ruby Red Slippers, which I liked alright and I appreciated its uniqueness. I like the purple better than the red, so I like this one a bit more...
Okay, I'm done with writing today. I can't seem to construct a sentence that actually reflects what I'm thinking.

You know, I'm a glitter girl. I love glitter. I love it especially in nail polishes, and super especially in jelly nail polishes.
But this one? I don't know. While I adore glitter, I'm also pretty OCD about texture, and lumpy polishes make me insane. I put rhinestones on my middle fingers for my 4th of July manicure and thought I was going to pull my fingernails right off, the stones were bugging me so much.
So although this is so incredibly interesting, I'm not sure I could actually tolerate having it on my nails. I think the lumpiness would make me crazy...
...er. Crazier, that is.
I love glitters, and this one is right up my alley - I love that it's a dark jelly yet only requires two coats.
Very funky...I agree with Laynie...I can see myself going slightly crazy though, texture-wise :)
I totally agree about the removal, I have "Across the Universe" and it is so hard to remove.
I had to do the "foil method" twice per finger..but it was well worth it!

Though I loves me some Lady Gaga, I think I would rather go for the "Across the Universe" polish from this collection, although I do love the black/purple combo...
I have never tried a Lippman, but these new glitters are making me wan them so bad! I think BR is just gorgeous.
I'm waiting for my Nordstom order. When I saw this I had to have it. Thankfully there isn't any Funky Chunky in the trio. It is gorgeous. I know this type of polish is a pain to remove. I'm looking forward to getting these.
