GOSH black passion and a failed franken

I really like this as a 'neutral'. It's a black polish with a liberal sprinkling of silver shimmer/microglitter that lightens the overall shade to a very dark grey. Easy two coat application. I like it as a twist on black, a colour I'm not usually 100% comfortable wearing (teenage goth Vietnam flashbacks).

This was my attempt to franken something using MAC jewelmarine glitter, a blackened teal-green holo. I put loads of it in a clear basecoat I had, along with CG emerald sparkle and Illamasqua boosh to try and give a tint to the basecoat. There's also some CG atlantis and Models' Own emerald city in there, but frankly they didn't work that well, since they're bigger particles and they just sank to the bottom.

I liked the look of this, but whole nails started coming off within a few hours, hence why these pictures only have two fingers in them. That's what you get for using a crappy mixer polish. Any suggestions for GOOD clear polish I can use to franken with? I would love to give this combo another shot, but don't want to waste more glitter on a cheap clear base.

you might want to take a look at the suspension bases that are sold at TKB (?) trading. They have ones special for pigments, and ones specially for glitters, as there is no clear polish that will work to suspend glitter. I am disregarding that the glitter fell to the bottom, as the franken is gorgeous!!!

TKB Trading sells pints of Glamour base (aka suspension base) for $29.00, including shipping. The smaller 4oz bottles are $12.00, IIRC. You can find everything here.

Awww, I'm so sad that your franken failed, but you really need to try this one again in a different base because the color is AMAZING! Good luck in finding a base; I'm no help because I've never tried frankening myself.

Love your franken. So pretty. Maybe with a suspension base it will turn out for you. Gorgeous.

Aww, thank you for the help ladies! I'll try the suspension base, hopefully that'll last longer than 12 hours on my nails!
