Neutral & Festive!

I was trying to get myself into the holiday spirit - but not in a red/green/bells/holly/snow kind of way just quite yet - when I came up with this manicure! Not totally my idea mind you...I have a sweater from Kohl's that looks like this! (See it here.)

The nude base is Essie Brooch the Subject (which I showed you before here), and the gold dots are OPI Glitzerland. (See my full Glitzerland mani here, on Piff here, and on flinty here! We all have different skin tones and I think it looks fab on each and every one of us!)

I thought the effect was really cute and I got lots of compliments on it! It kind of reminded me of Kate Spade, but I'm not honestly sure why. And it did give me the beginnings of holiday cheer...(without being OTT).

(Bonus: It lasted FOREVER. I still have it on and its been...5 days?)

Are your nails festive yet or are you waiting until the holidays are closer? Are you planning any special manicures? I'd love to hear!

That is so gorgeous! How do you make the dots so neat?

Subtle, yet pretty! I like holiday manicures like this that aren't in your face.

I love these. It is so simple, but so beautiful. Definitely trying this soon!

That is an adorable manicure! That sweater would tempt me if I wasn't so blasted allergic to it. :(

This is very lovely!! Festive, but not over the top (although I love over the top! XD). Gorgeous!

We were almost nail twins! I had Brooch the Subject on earlier this week and, when it needed freshening up, I put a coat of the gold Essie luxe effects polish over it. Yours is much more festive looking, though

BTW, have you tried any of the luxe effects? I got the flakie and the gold one and I like them very much.

So pretty! I've never thought to do a nude/glitter combo like this. I want to try it with a silvery polish on Tickle My Francey I think... x

@KimsKie's - Thank you!

@Jamie - That is so nice of you to say!

@ilexica - If you do, I can't wait to see it!! <3

@Mrs. WASP - I don't know if they are all that neat, but I used a bobby pin that I stretched open, dipped one of the ends in Glitzerland and dotted it on my mani.

@elbee- Me too :) I love the holidays but I'm not quite ready for the inyourface thing yet!

@Kimi - I'd love to see your version!

@Rach - Oh no :( What are you allergic to?

@Ashesela - Hehe I will probably get a little more OTT as the holiday approaches...

@Grace - Haha we are so nail twins! I have totally tried the Luxeffects (I had As Gold As It Gets over Power Clutch the other day...posting that next) and I got the same ones as you initially - then picked up the pink glitter because I was feeling bad. :( Its good to hear from you buddy :)

@s - Nice! I am looking forward to your holiday manis!

@Lucy - I think I will have to bust out Smitten with Mittens for Christmas though, as has become tradition :)

@Georgina - Glad you like it!

@Elsa P - Thank you@

@The Postcolonial Rabbit - I think that would look amazing! Especially on someone with a cooler skin tone. I'm so horrifically yellow I can't always pull off silver. I would really like to see pics of your take on this!

@ Miss Doll - Thank you :) Exactly what I was going for!

@bunchofnumbers - I used one head of a bobby pin dipped in Glitzerland! Works like a charm :)

omg i just did the same thing! i used moon over mumbai (opi) as a base and some deep gold opi gold for the dots. i really wanted green (orly mistletoe) but i didn't have an opaque enough gold and i've been stuck on neutral for a while now. :/ i love your version though!

I love this! I was inspired by your mani, so I did one similar with Essie Jazz and China Glaze Swing Baby. I posted a picture of it on my sister's and my blog. :)
